1. How much does self-storage cost?

The cost for storage container hire with Bobs Storage Boxes is £30 a week. Longer term hire offers are also available. 

2. What size unit do I need?

All of our containers are 20ft containers making them excellent for a wide variety of storage needs, including a higher volume of smaller items to larger more difficultly stored items. 

3. Do I need insurance?

Yes. Almost all reputable UK storage facilities require you to have insurance and it is up to the customer to ensure this has been arranged prior to storing their items. 

4. What items are prohibited?

For safety and legal reasons, you cannot store everything. Common prohibited items include:

  • Perishable foods (anything that could attract vermin).
  • Flammable materials (gas canisters, petrol, paint, solvents).
  • Illegal goods (drugs, unlicensed tobacco, firearms/explosives).
  • Living creatures (animals, plants).
  • Cash and securities.
  • No lodging is permitted. 
5. When can I access my stuff?

During operating hours (6am-10pmMonday to Sunday

6. Is there a minimum rental period?

1 month initially, able to be extended on weekly basis from there. Enquire for special requests.

7. How secure are the units?
  • 24-hour CCTV covering all entrances 
  • Perimeter fencing and electronic gates.
  • Personal locks: you will be provided with a lock upon rental agreement commencing. 
8. What ID do I need to sign up?
  1. Photo ID: A valid passport or driving licence.
  2. Proof of Address: A utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months. You cannot usually rent a unit without these.
9. How much notice do I need to give to leave?

The standard notice period is 7 to 14 days in writing (email is accepted). If you do not give the required notice, you may be charged for an additional period.

10. Do you provide transport or removal services?

This is not currently available but is something we are looking into for the near future!
